There is nothing "Politically Correct" about wanting equal rights and equal treatment for all. "Politically Correct" is little more than Orwellian "Newspeak" for the 21st century, a way of phrasing things in order to not give offence. :) more…

I am so against what has become known as P.C. as I believe it has replaced C. S. ( common sense ), but your post isn't about being p c, it's about being fair too all regardless of their way of life.
Unfortunately, minorities do seem to get more publicity, and it's that minority of a minority section, the extreme part, that condemns t more…

Here Here! The scariest part is the fact that the media habitually ignored the hundreds that go missing locally, and in London. I can't imagine what parents less media savvy and resourced than the McCanns go through - where's their audience with the pope or Gordon Brown? where's their ride in Philip Green's private jet?
It makes me kind of si more…

I wouldn't consider myself to be PC, but some would depending on thier own subjective interpretations of the classification. I have to disagree with your comment that "most minority groups seem to want their rights but not others". The majority of Muslims I have met, for example, think nothing of the sort. I work for a gay rights organisation and t more…

I think all the media attention is going to do more harm than good - I hope this will be timely reminder to all parents that their children are vulnerable at all times.
I hope you don’t mind too much but I am passing on the ‘seven’ tag, please see my blog…

I think yesterdays display was disgraceful. Why anyone thinks that punching someone in the face is going to make them stop being homosexual, or change their approval of it, is beyond me. more…

I agree that we can't pick and choose, but I do disagree with showing any of this stuff on the telly.
I think we are being desensitised by all this stuff. We see the news, with all the horrors of the world, and then we see ... I dunno - some dramatised thriller book .. and it all looks the same.
I find, with the news, I more…

You can support equality and be anti PC. I have no problems with anyones activities or beliefs from Satan to Sufi Islam as long as you respect others can have contrary views. However most minority groups seem to want their rights but not others e.g. muslims views on women, gays etc/ PC is just a thought police liberal facist agenda to make everyone more…

Pity that this was ever planned for London HF. I reckon it would have been much better to have put it in the middle of the country. That way the infrastructure would have been there in the first place, somewhere close to Birmingham would have been good, and the whole country could then have benefitted. I think they are going to struggle to provide more…

Maybe that's one of the problems hf, Newham and even London as a whole will benefit, and I don't doubt that they will, but what about the rest of the country, and in the long run we will all be paying the costs.
Many areas of Britain badly need re-building but if we have to wait untill we can hold an olympic games some have a very long more…

With that logic, stopping people flying away on holiday may not stop climate change then, but it will still lessen air pollution and noise pollution. Whilst people have the right to make their own informed decisions about whether or not they believe in climate change, that doesn't mean mankind can continue to pollute the way it does. You may not th more…

I think it's a time someone put a stop to "kiss and tell" journalism. Profit should not be made out of any relationship, regardless of sexuality, or whether it was a long relationship or a 'one night stand'. If the Mail is to be believed (and it all too often isn't) then Chevalier's threats to 'come clean' if cash was not forthcoming were tantamou more…

I have not fallen for the carbon footprint ploy either. Nor will I stop flying. Humans have indeed explored the world before air travel, but note they were mostly wealthy and privileged humans. Is this a cunning plan to once again restrict travel to the rich and powerful, and furthermore keep the Third World in its place?

Which is all very well if you are a believer in the carbon footprint, global warming being down to human activity story. Personally I think that this is more down to solar activity and natural warming than to human activity.
Our climate has changed continuously over millions of years and continues to do so. Stopping people fliying awa more…

I gave up reading the Mail a couple of years ago for just that reason and for giving over up to ten pages for other non events.
Browne should not have lied in court and that is the only reason that I have for hoping that he will be charged with that, as were Aitken and Archer, his private life is his own affair.

the only reason the relationship made headlines is because it's man-to-man. if it was an older man having a relationship with a woman half his age nobody would have batted an eyelid. to me it shows the homophobia in the media. He is a single man entitled to lead a private life. he wasn't hurting anyone. The boyfriend was just beingvengeful because more…

He was appreciated in the city during his time as top man at BP and its sad this news story will damage his personal reputation. I think he'll still be in the business world and I'm sure those who are near to him had some inkling this was happening as it was a relationship as you say for 4 years.

Hmmm--sounds as if the guy (or gal) who wrote that AP story, is not only a bit of a homophobe, but a bad reporter, as well. Newspapers continually trade off objectivity for sensationalism, to sell papers--not realizing that by doing that, they are turning away the very readers that papers were initially printed for--people who want actual, straight more…

Ah, much as I love them they can be annoying, like when they're doing Riverdance in the ceiling above your bed. Try the hedgewitch's way - burn sage around your home, and ask the little darlings if they wouldn't mind moving to a nice new residence, like a shed or barn, where they will be warm and dry and won't inconvenience you.

Oh yes, we've the good ol' 4 for one dollar packages of TP over here, in our one dollar stores as well--four rolls lasting less than 1 roll of the 1000 sheet two-ply stuff, as you have to use twice as much to get the..job..done. :)
